Into Creative Recommends: Teenage Superstars

Film: Teenage Superstars
Venue: Raindance website
Date: 01 – 03 May 2020

At times like this, it’s fair to say we are all really, really, missing music and in particular live gigs and hearing from our favourite musicians.

There are some diamonds in the mud however. The new Rolling Stones single Living In A Ghost Town was an unexpected bonus as was The Bluebells self isolation rendition of their song Happy Birthday, which was produced by this very website, Into Creative – click here to watch it.

Another gem is the fact that Raindance, who are dedicated to supporting and promoting independent film makers and their art around the world, have announced plans to show the wonderful Teenage Superstars via their website for free from Friday 1 May through to Sunday 3 May 2020.

This is fantastic news for anyone interested in the Scottish independent music scene in the 1980-90s period and is directed by the talented Grant McPhee. The film was released in 2017 and followed on from the previous Big Gold Dream documentary.

With a voice over from Kim Deal of The Pixies, watch out for the likes of The Pastels, BMX Bandits, Boy Hairdressers, Soup Dragons, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Creation records and much, much more.

Interviews, live footage, clubs, shops, record labels, it’s all in there and brings across that true DIY ethos of the West of Scotland sound which firmly put a footprint in the echelons of Scottish music. The film can be accessed here via the Raindance website.

And if you still crave more, BMX Bandits front man and raconteur Duglas T.Stewart will be doing a live Q&A on the BMX Bandits Instagram page on Friday afternoon at 1.30pm – not to be missed!

Lastly, at Into Creative towers we’ve been beavering away and will be making an announcement soon – we won’t give too much away but suffice to say we have some fantastic interview content to share with you which includes at least a couple of the talented artists mentioned above…………..stay tuned…………
